Champagne Blanc de Noirs Brut

Champagne Allouchery-Perseval
Champagne, France

Renowned around the world, the Champagne region was at the top of the list of our Vinum Masters team of sommeliers when searching across Europe for the very finest terroir, history, and heritage on winemaking.

The wines of Champagne are some of the most prestigious and coveted wines in the world. Characterised by their fine bubbles and incredible capacity for aging, these sparkling wines can be dry or sweet, light, or powerful, and simple or complex depending on the winemaking techniques used, the soils, the microclimate, and the grape variety or varieties used. Several grape varieties can be used to make champagne, but the three main grapes used are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

Emilien Allouchery is a 4th generation winemaker and part of the new generation of Champagne producers. Having worked in many key wine regions around the world perfecting his technical skills and knowledge, he ultimately returned to the helm at Allouchery-Perseval in 2006.

Wines from this Premier Cru property covering just 8 hectares in Ecueil, in Montagne de Reims, are made with maximum respect to the terroir and the environment. Certified HVE (a French certification meaning High Environmental Value), the vines are never treated with insecticides or herbicides, and only natural composts are used. The soils are ploughed, not treated, all grapes are harvested by hand, and the yield is deliberately limited to maximise quality and concentration.

From the 300 villages present in the Champagne production area, only 44 of these are Premier Cru sites, making top quality, small production, vintage grower Champagnes an increasingly rare commodity.

Our Vinum Masters Champagne showcases fresh citrus and yellow fruit notes with just a hint of liquorice freshness on the nose. Poised and elegant on the palate with brioche and dried fruit notes, with lively acidity accentuating the delicate bubbles.

Great as an aperitif, and highly recommended for food pairings including appetisers, grilled fish, seafood and light meats.
